At Dr. Hefley’s office, we understand that you lead a busy life. That’s why we conveniently provide a variety of services within our office so you don’t have to go anywhere else.
When you have an orthopedic or sports injury, getting a prompt diagnosis and beginning your course of treatment as quickly as possible is important to your recovery. That’s why Dr. Hefley provides on-site services such as MRI, viscosupplementation, ultrasound-guided injections, and physical therapy.
Magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI, uses a magnetic field and a sophisticated computer system to give reliable and detailed images of the body. In orthopedics, we use MRI for high quality images of soft tissue areas such as tendons, ligaments, and muscles.
Our MRI machine produces very clear images of the extremities, including the hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, foot, and ankle. Plus, the 1.5T short bore magnet enables us to perform both contrast and non-contrast studies, as well as metal artifact suppression scans.
The inviting design of our MRI makes it accessible for any patient. Faster scanning times and feet-first entry on many scans also decreases the anxiety of patients who are uncomfortable in small spaces. Our goal is to ensure a comfortable MRI experience for all patients.
Located at our North Little Rock office, our MRI facility is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR). All scans are interpreted by experienced, board-certified central Arkansas radiologists.
Our MRI center is open Monday through Friday with flexible scheduling. MRI entrance and parking is on the east side (back) of the building.
Viscosupplementation therapy is an appropriate treatment for people with knee arthritis that has failed to respond to more conservative therapy. During the procedure, a solution of hyaluronic acid is injected directly into the knee joint to restore the cushioning and lubricating properties of normal joint fluid.
Viscosupplementation is useful for people who are trying to delay surgery or are not candidates for knee replacement surgery. Injections are typically given weekly for 3 or 4 weeks. They can reduce pain, improve mobility, and enable a higher and more comfortable level of activity.
Using ultrasound, Dr. Hefley can administer medications such as cortisone and viscosupplementation to painful joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Ultrasound guidance can help deliver targeted treatment directly to the site of pain, improving the precision, safety, and effectiveness of the injection procedure.
All ultrasound-guided injections are conveniently performed in our office.
We offer physical therapy at our Little Rock and North Little Rock offices. Our physical therapists have extensive experience treating orthopedic and sports-related injuries, such as sprains and strains, arthritis, tendonitis, bursitis, torn rotator cuffs, torn knee ligaments, and so much more. They also provide post-operative rehabilitation for knee and hip joint replacement, ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, and other surgical procedures.
Our therapists focus on improving your mobility, strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, speed, and endurance. Their goal is to guide you through the recovery process and quickly return you to your active lifestyle.
